Delta Hard Mode is a mod that aims to make minecraft harder, especially in the early game. Idea by ladallas_texas.

Features in beta 0.5.7 (includes features in development):

Block/Item Changes:

  • Bonemeal now only boosts a crop by one stage per usage
  • Beds will no longer skip the night, but will still set your spawn-point. (WIP)
  • Diamond Pickaxes can no longer be used to obtain Obsidian blocks (Elaborated on more in Overworld Changes)
  • In order to prevent the lava-water Nether Portal trick, buckets will no longer be able to pick up lave source blocks
  • Tree saplings can no longer be obtained from leaf blocks (Meant to prevent tree farming)
  • Wheat seeds can no longer be obtained from grass, making it more difficult to obtain crops early
  • Overworld Changes:

  • Silverfish block veins will now naturally spawn underground in any biome (layers 1 - 120)
  • Obsidian blocks can now instead be found in 3-5 stacks within Dungeon, Mineshaft, Village Blacksmith, Desert and Jungle Temple chests
  • Village Blacksmith chests no longer contain Obsidian blocks
  • Wheat seeds and all types of saplings will now spawn in Mineshaft chests
  • Property Changes:

  • Grass, dirt, cobblestone (Not counting mossy cobblestone),cobblestone stair, cracked stone bricks, wooden stair, and wooden plank blocks are now all affected by gravity similar to sand blocks. (Meant to make building a shelter and spelunking more difficult)
  • The slab variants for wooden plank and cobblestone blocks will also be affected by gravity
  • Birch and Dark Oak Tree Log blocks will no longer drop their blocks when broke (Meant to counter-balance the following change)
  • Birch and Dark Oak Wooden Plank blocks aren’t affect by gravity (Makes it so that Woodland Mansions don’t immediately fall apart when spawned)
  • Golden Carrots and Glistening Melons now require Gold Ingots in their crafting recipes instead of Gold Nuggets
  • Mob / Animal Changes:

  • Certain domestic mobs now require more expensive items in order to breed:
  • Pigs & Rabbits - Golden Carrots
  • Cows & Sheep - Golden Apples
  • Chickens - Glistening Melon Slices
  • When breeding or growing one of these mobs, the item used will go on cooldown for 1 second

    However, you still have to use their original breeding food in order to boost their growth speed

    These mobs will also follow both their original and their new breeding items

    Cow Changes:

  • The chances of leather dropping from a cow are now 1-2 instead 0-2
  • Wolf Changes:

  • Wolf movement speed has been increased from 0.3 to 0.35
  • Blaze Changes:

  • A Blaze's melee attack will now set the target on fire for 4 seconds
  • Creeper Changes:

  • Creeper fuse time reduced from 30 ticks to 25 ticks (1.5s to 1.25s)
  • Creeper explosions will now produce fire
  • Lightning Creepers will have their explosion power doubled in addition to the flames
  • Enderman Changes:

  • If an Enderman dies, 0 - 2 endermites will spawn at the death location
  • Endermen now drop 0 - 2 ender pearls instead of just 0 - 1
  • Evoker Changes:

  • Evoker health increased from 24 to 50
  • Spider Changes:

  • Spiders and Cave Spiders no longer take fall damage
  • Spiders and Cave Spiders no longer drop string, which makes crafting a bow early much tougher
  • Spider and Cave Spider movement speed increased from 0.3 to 0.35
  • The chances for a Spider to turn into a Spider Jockey have been increased (7%)
  • Vindicator Changes:

  • Vindicators now have a 10% chance to spawn as an illusionist instead
  • Zombie Changes:

  • Zombies that spawn in all types of biomes outside of deserts will now have a 20% chance to become Husks instead
  • Regular Zombie/Zombie Villager (Not counting Baby Zombies) movement speed has been increased from 0.23 to 0.27
  • Husk health has been increased from 20 to 25
  • Husk attack damage has been increased from 4 to 6
  • Zombie Pigman Changes:

  • Zombie Pigmen now have a 6% chance to become a creeper instead

    Skeleton Changes:

  • Skeletons will no longer drop bows when killed
  • Skeletons outside of icy biomes now have an 8% chance to become Strays instead
  • Normal Skeletons that spawn in the Nether will now be replaced with Wither Skeletons wielding bows (flame arrows)
  • Wither Skeleton Changes:

  • Normal Skeletons that spawn in the Nether will now be replaced with Wither Skeletons wielding bows (flame arrows)
  • Slime/Magma Cube Changes:

  • Slimes no longer take fall damage
  • Squid Changes:

  • Squids now have a 8% chance to spawn as a Guardian
  • Ghast Changes:

  • Ghast health has been increased from 10 to 25
  • Ghast fireball explosion power has been increased from 1 to 2
  • Ghast fireballs can no longer be deflected, and will explode immediately when attacked or hit by an arrow
  • Witch Changes:

  • Witch health has been increased from 26 to 30
  • Witch movement speed has been increased from 0.25 to 0.27
  • Boss Changes:

  • Elder Guardian health has been increased from 80 to 100
  • Ender Dragon health has been increased from 200 to 300
  • Ender Dragon movement speed has been increased from 7.0 to 7.5
  • Ender Dragon fireballs now create a power 1 explosion on impact in addition to emitting the damaging clouds afterwards
  • Wither movement speed has been increased from 0.6 to 0.65
  • Wither health has been increased from 300 to 400
  • The explosion power of the initial wither explosion has been increased to 10
  • More changes are coming soon!

    Please note that some of the changes may get removed or reworked later on
